I am going to a masquerade "ball" tonight for someone's Sweet 16, and there will only be about 50 people: just some family and friends, nothing too big.

Anyways, the invitation says a formal shirt, dress pants and a mask for men. My question is, should I go with a bowtie, or just leave it without it?

And yes, no sports jackets/suits are allowed.

P.S. If it helps, I have a plain black mask, that covers the lower part of my forehead to most of my nose.
