It doesn't look like a tux that way. Also, what is more popular now a days for a wedding, a vest or cummerbund?
so there's a band concert coming up for our school. our band is kinda popular and the best middle school band in the northeast so our band teacher makes us dress up formally for the concerts. well i'm a trans guy and just came out at school. the principal is being kind of annoying and saying they cant do ANYTHING for some weird reason. so here is the dress code:
GIRLS: black dress skirt that comes down to the top of your feet, a white 3/4 length sleeve shirt, black headband and black flats.
BOYS: black tuxedo pants, a white collared dress shirt, a black bow tie, a cummerbund and black dress shoes.
obviously i want to be fitted as a boy. the principal told me i couldn't but the band teacher thinks i should be able to. i am not going to the concert if i have to be fitted as a girl and it's still up in the air. what do you think i should do???

so for prom, I'll be wearing a botton up, dress pants and shoes, and a bow tie. Since I'm wearing a bow tie, would you recommend also wearing a cummerbund to go with it, or no? which would be better?

My groom-to-be wants tuxes and bow ties, which is fine with me... but we can't find any bow ties/vests/cummerbunds that match the colors of the rest of the bridal party, so we are considering having custom bow ties and pocket squares made. He thinks it would look strange to have no vest or cummerbund but my sources say otherwise. Is it common to do without vest or cummerbund?

I have bought a normal suit NOT a dinner suit and i was wondering if it is ok to wear a cummerbund and bow tie with a normal suit. My suit is charcoal and i was planning to wear a black shirt and gold bow tie and cummer bund? would that be ok or what would you recommend?
